1st InsEnt SIG-ECSB Workshop UAB 2024
From April 10 to 12, 2024, the Center for Research in Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation (CREIS) and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) hosted the 1st InsEnt SIG-ECSB Workshop. This event brought together leading academics in the field of entrepreneurship and institutions to share knowledge, explore potential research, and foster collaborations.
The workshop featured a seminar titled "The Entrepreneurship-Institutions nexus: Rethinking the scene and I have a dream," delivered by Professor Roy Thurik from the Erasmus School of Economics in the Netherlands. His presentation offered a fresh perspective on the relationship between entrepreneurship and institutions, generating an interesting debate among attendees.
Additionally, presentations were given by Gustav Hägg, Agnieszka Kurczewska, and Vera Haataja, who addressed topics such as corporate responsibility from an ethical perspective. Their ideas invited participants to reflect on the role of entrepreneurs in society and their impact on economic development.
Participants also had the opportunity to visit TechBarcelona and Barcelona Activa, allowing them to experience Barcelona's dynamic entrepreneurial ecosystem firsthand. These visits provided valuable context for the academic discussions and encouraged the exchange of ideas among attendees.
The 1st InsEnt SIG-ECSB Workshop proved to be a stimulating platform for knowledge sharing and networking among researchers dedicated to better understanding the interaction between entrepreneurship and institutions.
