XV Award to the most entrepreneurial idea 2024
The Centre d'Iniciatives Emprenedores Universitàries (CIEU) at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), in collaboration with the Facultat d'Economia i Empresa and the Escola FUABformació, held the fifteenth edition of the CIEU-FEiE Awards for the most entrepreneurial idea on December 12. The event, which took place in the Assembly Hall of the Facultat d'Economia i Empresa, featured nearly a hundred project ideas, demonstrating the growing interest in innovation within the university environment.
During the ceremony, Andreu Turró, Director of the Centre d'Iniciatives Emprenedores Universitàries at UAB, emphasized the strategic importance of fostering entrepreneurial spirit among students. The event was attended by prominent institutional figures, including Stefan van Hemmen, vicedegà of students, entrepreneurship and employability, and Maria Espadalé, executive vice president of FUAB.
The day included an inspiring presentation by Sílvia Gómez, CEO of Sens Solutions, who shared her experience in developing Internet of Things (IoT) solutions to promote sustainability. "There are many ways to be entrepreneurial. You have potential that you can't even imagine," Sílvia emphasized during her speech.
The winners in the different categories were:
- Escola FUAB Formació Category: The first prize was awarded to the "Sisters in Coffee" project, developed by Ana Laura Perez, Katrin Leitenmayer, and Zadith Benavides from the Màster in Hotel Business Management.
- Facultat d'Economia i Empresa Category: "Bonsai Studio," presented by Hugo Pérez and Álvaro Ramírez from the Grau in Business Administration and Management, won first prize.
- General UAB Category: The "JUNTOS" project by JXE, developed by Daniel Aguena, Daniella Matzuda, Aurelio Ochoa, and Domenica Cobo from the Màster in Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation, took first place.
The vicerectora of Students and Employability, Anabel Galán, closed the ceremony by congratulating all participants on the high quality of the ideas presented and emphasizing the importance of continuing to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in the university environment.
